New Builds

As specialist residential structural engineers, new build houses are an opportunity for us to engage in the vision of thedesigner.

We hate kicking cans down the road and can be counted on to facilitate the important (and sometimes hard) decisions that make or break a project. We believe this design focused, collaborative approach makes SDS unique and a valuable addition to any residential project

Alterations

We have provided structural engineering services for many house alterations over our 20+ years working as specialist residential structural engineers.

As a result, we are very familiar with how house construction has developed over time and bring that knowledge and experience forward to new renovation projects.

Retaining Walls

We are experienced in the design of timber pole, steel pile, RC soldier pile, blockwork and insitu concrete retaining walls.

If required for taller walls, we can collaborate with specialist geotechnical engineers to incorporate ground anchors or finite element analysis.

Founded in 2003, Structural Design Solutions is a small Structural Engineering consultancy focused on bespoke residential projects.

Our service is all about creating and enhancing the aesthetic our clients are seeking. We look beyond the structural design and focus on contributing to the success of the overall project team - Architect, Engineer, Builder, and most importantly the Client.  

This creative approach has positioned us as Structural Engineer of choice with many Architects and Builders.

We love architecture and as a result our team has experience across a wide range of projects, from simple additions and extensions through to bespoke architectural projects.

We know that we are one part of a team of professionals and tradies that come together to get the job done and pride ourselves on communicating the design to everyone involved. We are also well versed in the complexity of a high end build and understand how our design will need to interface with other disciplines.
